I’m back.
I apologize for the back and forth on my decision. I’ve decided to stick with New Mexico Prep and College Sports and continue to grow this project.
To keep it plain and simple — if there’s a will there’s a way. I will find a way to make my family life, my regular job and nmprepcosports work.
I’ve done too much to let this die off. I have unfinished business.
I will do my best to keep up with weekly news and provide coverage for this awesome sports community.
I would like to keep this column short and simple. Just know I’m back and I will not leave anytime soon.
Thank you to everyone who reached out and thank you to my loved ones, especially my extremely supportive girlfriend, for encouraging me to push on.
Stay tuned for more columns coming your way!
…Actually, I would like to expand on my decision. If you care to read this far, well, here’s a few more details.
I know people may think of me as a quitter. In high school football, I left Cruces after my freshman and sophomore season — joined the Centennial football program for my junior year and ended up making the decision to not play my senior season. That decision came just a few weeks before the first game of that year.
I know some may not care about my 17-year-old self’s decision. But it carried a lot of weight with me since then.
Some, see me as the quitter.
For a while I saw myself as that as well. I left many jobs, because I felt it didn’t feel right at the moment. Whether you see that as wrong or right, that’s the past and I’ve learned from it.
I no longer see myself as that previous word. I grind stuff out. I work hard.
I made this decision to stick with nmprepcosports because I enjoy the grind now. I enjoy the thought of — “there’s no other option but to make this work”.
I can’t control what others think of me. But, I like the person I’ve become because of this project, because I show up for my son everyday and because I show up for myself every morning I wake up.
Let’s continue to grind. I trust the process and I’m going to enjoy the journey.
Thank you for reading. More to come!

Glad you’re back!
